The most leaning tower in the world? Actually - not in Pisa, but in the middle of Rheinhessen, in the charming village of Gau-Weinheim. With an inclination of over 5.42°, the medieval bell tower even surpasses the famous Tower of Pisa and has been officially recognized as a world record holder. The outside of the tower can be visited free of charge all year round, and there are guided tours on selected occasions. The bells of the leaning tower ring daily at 11 am, 1 pm and 6 pm.

The most convenient and environmentally friendly way to visit the tower is by bus. Line 492 connects the towns of Wörrstadt and Partenheim and stops from the direction of Partenheim directly at the "Schiefer Turm" stop of the same name within sight of the building. From the direction of Wörrstadt, you can get off at the "Bürgerhaus" stop, from where you can also reach the tower in a few minutes on foot. The bus route is ideal for day trippers from the Alzey, Kirchheimbolanden or Mainz area and offers a relaxed journey without having to search for a parking space.
