New digital scoreboard for Birkenfeld - location at Talweiherplatz inaugurated

The displays provide real-time information on departure times, delays and last-minute
changes to bus services - and are the first of over 30 new displays to be installed in the entire RNN (Rhein-Nahe Nahverkehrsverbund) -
area as part of
a large-scale funding project.

DFI stands for Dynamic Passenger Information. The digital displays process current
operating data from the vehicles and thus inform passengers precisely about the next
connections.

"Investing in digital infrastructure is a key building block for attractive and
reliable local transport," emphasizes Silke Meyer, Managing Director of the Rhein-Nahe
local transport association (RNN). "The new DFI displays significantly increase transparency for
passengers and make using public transport noticeably easier in everyday life."

The district of Birkenfeld is also convinced of the benefits of the new technology. District Administrator
Miroslaw Kowalski explains: "The modernization of our stops is an important step
for mobility in rural areas. With the new DFI displays, we are creating an
up-to-date information service that offers passengers more planning security."

The importance of the new displays for local people is also emphasized by
Mayor of the municipality of Birkenfeld Matthias König: "Digital
passenger information is more than just technology - it is a real service benefit for
our citizens. The new displays make public transport more convenient and
more attractive."

Birkenfeld's mayor Hans-Peter Lampel adds: "Talweiherplatz is a
central transport hub in our town. The fact that the first DFI displays in the district outside the city of Idar-Oberstein are located here is a strong signal.
This will make public transport more visible, more modern and more convenient for many people."

The entire project is being supported by the state of Rhineland-Palatinate with a total of €543,900 as part of the
funding program for real-time initiatives in public transport. Further locations in the
district of Birkenfeld are already in preparation.
