Changed departure times on Mainz lines for the timetable change (14.12.)

The timetable change on 14.12.2025 will see several changes to the Mainz route network. In addition to some route adjustments, changes to journey times will ensure greater reliability. There will also be changes to some stops.

Changes to the lines

  • Changed departure times on almost all lines

    The traffic situation has changed in recent years. The journey times on most lines have therefore been adjusted to increase reliability. As a result, many lines have different departure times than before.

  • Lines 9, 67, 68, 76, 79, 92 and 93

    In future,lines 9, 67, 68, 69, 76, 79, 92 and 93will also stop at the Neubrunnenstraße stop in the direction of the main station. The new stopping area is located on Kaiserstraße, just before the junction with Boppstraße.

    In addition, line 68 will stop at the main station in the direction of Hochheim at stopping area H instead. This will standardize the departure point of the lines to Hindenburgplatz.

  • Lines 54, 55, 56, 58 and 630

    The lines departing from the main station will travel directly from the Hauptbahnhof West stop to the Friedrich-von-Pfeiffer-Weg stop. The stop at the Universität stop (stop area G) is no longer available for these lines traveling out of the city. Replacement buses from the rail replacement service will continue to stop there.

    Passengers starting at the Universität stop in the direction of Drais or Finthen should take streetcar lines 51, 53 and 59 (from stop area B) to the Friedrich-von-Pfeiffer-Weg stop and change there to lines 54, 55, 56, 58 or 630.

  • Lines 63, 65, 66 and 76

    In future, the same timetable will apply on these lines on bridge days as during the school vacations. Previously, a separate timetable applied on these lines on bridge days.

  • Line 69

    On line 69, there will only be individual journeys on the Hauptbahnhof - Neustadt / Goetheplatz section. All other journeys coming from Bodenheim will terminate at the main station (and vice versa). Line 67 is available as a replacement on the Hauptbahnhof - Goetheplatz section.

  • Line 74

    The journey time to Hechtsheim will be shorter on line 74: as the construction work at the Mainz-Süd interchange has been completed, the line can now run directly from the Albert-Stohr-Straße stop in Bretzenheim to the Wilhelm-Maybach-Straße stop in Hechtsheim. This eliminates the detour via the Pariser Tor stop.

  • Line 79

    From the timetable change, line 79 will take a more direct route between the Gonsenheim / An der Nonnenwiese and Universität stops via Dijonstraße and An der Dreispitz instead of via Hartenberg. This will speed up the journey time of line 79 from the city center and back.

    The stops Am Jugendwerk, Ketteler-Kolleg, Ludwigsburger Straße, SWR and King-Park-Center will be omitted. Line 68 is available as a replacement between Gonsenheim and Hartenberg.

    At the Universität stop, line 79 will then call at other stops, namely C (in the direction of the city center) and D (in the direction of Gonsenheim - Heidesheim).
