Around the Gutenberg Marathon on Sunday, 10.5.2026, there will be extensive changes to the entire route network. Line 6 will already be affected by the first road closures on Saturday, 9.5.2026.
In the old town of Mainz, for example, only the Schillerplatz and Münsterplatz stops will be accessible on Sundays from around 8 a.m. to around 2.30 p.m., and only on lines 52, 53, 60, 64, 65 and 80. The Theodor-Heuss-Brücke will also be closed during this time. The same applies to the main road in Mombach and large parts of Neustadt, which means that streetcar services will also be interrupted. Therefore, please use the trains for connections to and from Mainz.
To ensure a smooth journey to the marathon, additional journeys will also be offered on lines 90, 91, 92 and 93, which run at night and arrive at the main station at around 7:40 am.
