Due to track renewal, overhead line and maintenance work at the Mainz junction, there will be timetable changes and train cancellations from Friday, 3.4.2026 to Friday, 24.04.2026.
This will affect lines S8 and S9 with different effects depending on the following periods:
Continuous from April 3 to April 24:
- Cancellation of the S8 between Wiesbaden and Mainz
- Replacement service with buses (S8A)
At night on April 4/5, 9/10, 11/12, 13/14 and 21/22, 2026:
- Cancellation of the S9 between Wiesbaden and Kelsterbach
- Replacement service with buses (S8A between Wiesbaden and Mainz) or use of the S8
At night on April 5/6 and 7/8, 2026:
- Detour of the S8 via Frankfurt Airport long-distance station
At night April 13/14, 2026:
- Cancellation of the S8 and S9 between Wiesbaden and Kelsterbach
- Replacement service with buses (S8A, S8E, S8X*, S9X)
At night on April 19/20, 2026:
- Detour of the S9 via Frankfurt Süd
Note: *Replacement stop in Rüsselsheim for the S8X line towards Gateway Gardens in Weisenauer Straße (stop "Rüsselsheim, Marktplatz" no longer available).
