From August 21 to 25, the Pfingstwiese in Bad Kreuznach will once again be bustling with activity. The largest folk festival between the Nahe, Moselle, Rhine, and Saar rivers attracts thousands of visitors from the region every year. To ensure convenient travel to and from the fair, more regular bus routes, additional shuttle buses, and late-night trains will be in service.
Late-Night Services on the Weekend
On the nights from Friday to Saturday and Saturday to Sunday, late-night service will be available on the following routes:
Line 201 offers hourly service between 8:35 p.m. and 1:35 a.m., with the last trip at 3:00 a.m., via the Bad Kreuznach train station and “Korellengarten” to the “Im Weingarten” stop. Fairgoers can take Line 221 to Bad Münster/Ebernburg. Line 253 also runs to Bad Münster.
Line 202 runs via the train station and Wielandstraße in a loop hourly between 9:10 p.m. and 2:10 a.m. (Fri to Sat) and between 10:15 p.m. and 2:15 a.m. (Sat to Sun).
Line 203 serves the route from the train station via Diakonie to Königsberger Straße and Kuhberg. It runs at 9:30 p.m. (Sat: 9:25 p.m.), 10:30 p.m., 11:30 p.m., 12:40 a.m., 1:30 a.m. (Sat: 12:30 a.m. and 1:45 a.m.), and 3:00 a.m. In the opposite direction, Line 203 runs from the Stadthaus via Holzmarkt to Agnesienberg, with hourly departures between 9:35 p.m. and 1:35 a.m. on Friday and between 9:45 p.m. and 1:45 a.m. on Saturday.
Line 204 runs via Stadthaus and Büttenweg to Winzenheim; there, buses run hourly from 9:41 p.m. to 11:41 p.m. Additional night services depart at 1:30 a.m. (Fri to Sat) and 1:40 a.m. (Sat to Sun), as well as at 3:00 a.m.
Line 221 takes partygoers to Bad Münster, Ebernburg, Feilbingert, and Hallgarten hourly between 9:32 p.m. and 1:32 a.m., with the last trip at 3:00 a.m.
Line 224 also takes fairgoers at 10:43 p.m. (Sat: 10:37 p.m.), 12:15 a.m., 1:30 a.m., and 3:00 a.m. to Hackenheim, Frei-Laubersheim, Fürfeld, and Neu Bamberg.
Line 233 offers additional trips from Planig via Ippesheim and Biebelsheim to Gensingen at 9:37 p.m./9:34 p.m., 10:37 p.m./10:34 p.m., 11:42 p.m./11:37 p.m., 12:47 a.m./12:32 a.m., 1:32 a.m./1:37 a.m., and 3:00 a.m. (Fri to Sat/Sat to Sun).
Line 240 offers departures to Bretzenheim, Langenlonsheim, Windesheim, and Stromberg at 9:11 p.m., 10:39 p.m., 12:34 a.m., 1:35 a.m./1:45 a.m. (Fri/Sat), and 3:00 a.m. Additional trips to Bretzenheim and Langenlonsheim are at 12:30 a.m., 1:30 a.m./1:40 a.m., and 2:40 a.m./2:30 a.m. (Fri/Sat).
Line 244 takes fairgoers at 9:41 p.m./8:43 p.m. (Fri/Sat), 11:00 p.m./10:42 p.m. (Fri/Sat), 1:00 a.m., and 2:30 a.m. via Rüdesheim, Roxheim, Braunweiler, Sommerloch, Wallhausen, Hergenfeld, and Schöneberg to Eckenroth.
Line 245 to Hargesheim, Gutenberg, Wallhausen, Dalberg, and Sparbrücken runs on Friday at 8:14 p.m., on Saturday at 7:45 p.m. and 9:41 p.m., and on both nights at 10:43 p.m., 12:30 a.m., and 2:30 a.m. on both nights.
Line 250 takes partygoers to Rüdesheim, Weinsheim, and Waldböckelheim at 7:38 p.m., 8:44 p.m. (Fri only), 9:43 p.m., 11:44 p.m., 1:30 a.m./1:35 a.m. (Fri/Sat), and 2:30 a.m. to Rüdesheim, Weinsheim, and Waldböckelheim.
Line 251 runs via Rüdesheim and Roxheim to Hargesheim with hourly service until 3:00 a.m.
Line 253 runs toward Duchroth–Odernheim, with return trips at 7:48 p.m., 10:00 p.m., 12:00 a.m., and 2:00 a.m. (Fri) and 8:13 p.m., 10:13 p.m., 12:13 a.m., and 2:30 a.m. (Sat).
Line 440 offers additional trips at 8:14 p.m., 10:34 p.m., 11:56 p.m., 1:26 a.m., and 2:40 a.m. to Hackenheim, Volxheim, Wöllstein, Siefersheim, Stein-Bockenheim, and on to Wonsheim.
On Fridays, Line 255 offers service via Rüdesheim, Weinsheim, Mandel, and Sponheim to Bockenau at 10:00 p.m., 12:00 a.m., 1:30 a.m., and 3:00 a.m. On Saturdays, buses depart at 10:32 p.m., 12:30 a.m., 1:30 a.m., and 3:00 a.m.
Get home safely by train, too
On the rail network, additional or extended train service options are available on Fridays and Saturdays. The last train on the RE 3 line departs from Bad Kreuznach at 11:00 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, traveling via Ingelheim toward Mainz. Toward Saarbrücken, the last RE 3 departs at 11:22 p.m.
Connections to Mainz, Bingen, Rockenhausen, and Idar-Oberstein are also available late in the evening and overnight: The last RB 33 departs at 2:10 a.m. via Gensingen-Horrweiler, Ockenheim, and Ingelheim to Mainz, while the last RB 33 toward Idar-Oberstein departs at 2:14 a.m. via Bad Münster, Staudernheim, Bad Sobernheim, and Kirn. Toward Kaiserslautern, the last service is the RB 65 at 12:35 a.m. via Bad Münster, Altenbamberg, Alsenz, and Rockenhausen. Toward Bingen Central Station, the last RB 65 departs at 2:31 a.m. via Bretzenheim, Langenlonsheim, and Laubenheim. The last direct service to Bingen-Stadt departs from Bad Kreuznach at 12:35 a.m., traveling via Langenlonsheim, Münster-Sarmsheim, and Bingen Central Station.
Shuttle Buses
Shuttle buses are available again this year for visitors: A shuttle bus runs back and forth between the Bad Kreuznach train station and the “Brückes” stop. A shuttle bus departs from the Michelin parking lot every 15 minutes and takes revelers to the fair for 3 euros per person.
