Since the schedule change on August 10, bus route 202 has connected the southeastern residential areas of Bad Kreuznach directly to the Musikerviertel/REWE shopping center on Alzeyer Straße. This initiative addressed a specific request from residents and was implemented jointly by the City of Bad Kreuznach, the Rhein-Nahe Public Transportation Association (RNN), and Kommunalverkehr Rhein-Nahe GmbH (KRN).
The new route will take Bus 202 via the “Bad Kreuznach, Alzeyer Straße Mitte/REWE” stop. This provides residents of the southeastern residential areas with a direct connection to the local shopping facilities without having to transfer.
During a joint press conference, representatives from the City of Bad Kreuznach, the RNN, and KRN presented the new route and explained it on-site during a joint ride on Line 202.
Emanuel Letz, mayor of Bad Kreuznach, commented on the significance of the change: “The new route for Line 202 shows that specific concerns raised by citizens can be addressed and implemented collaboratively. With the direct connection to the shopping center, we’re improving accessibility for people in the southeastern residential areas. I’m pleased that we were able to make this a reality together with RNN and KRN.”
“A good bus network must evolve to meet local needs,” adds Silke Meyer, Managing Director of RNN. “With Line 202, we’ve succeeded in specifically adjusting the route while also finding a solution that reliably integrates into the existing schedule and the rest of the network. This ensures our service remains future-proof and tailored to local needs.”
Uwe Hiltmann, Managing Director of KRN, also praised the implementation: “We’re pleased to be able to offer the new route for the 202 in daily service since the schedule change. The implementation was well prepared and is running smoothly. This marks another successful transition of a bus service adjustment in Bad Kreuznach into regular operation.”
