Summer Vacation and Construction Work: Bus Service Disruptions

With the start of summer vacation, several road construction projects are scheduled in the Mainz-Bingen and Bad Kreuznach districts that will affect bus service in our transit area. Depending on the route, passengers should expect detours, changes to schedules, and the omission of certain stops.

Essenheim: Restrictions throughout the summer break

During the summer break, the “Finther Weg,” “Rathaus,” and “In den Domherrngärten” stops in Essenheim will not be served. Routes 630, 653, 654, and 656 will instead serve the former temporary stop “Elsheimer Straße” (now renamed “Windhäuser Weg”) and the “Am Römerberg” stop.

Complete closure between Bosenheim and Pfaffen-Schwabenheim

Starting at the beginning of summer vacation, the route between Bosenheim and Pfaffen-ḱSchwabenheim will be fully closed for an estimated three months. Routes 223 and 630 are affected by this closure.

During this time, line 630 will run nonstop between “Sprendlingen, Europakreisel” and “Bad Kreuznach, Bosenheimer Kreisel.” This will ensure that important connections in Mainz, Sprendlingen, Stadecken-Elsheim, and Bad Kreuznach can still be reached reliably.

Line 223 will be rerouted via Volxheim, Pleitersheim, and Badenheim. In addition, service on this line will be expanded to ensure basic service is available in the evenings and on weekends as well.

Passengers from Gensingen should note the following changes: In the eastern part of Sprendlingen, as well as at the “Sprendlingen, Bahnhof” and “Welgesheim, Bahnhof” stops, service to and from Gensingen will not be available. Furthermore, Gensingen Station is accessible in only one direction. Passengers from Gensingen should therefore first travel to the “Gensingen, Handelshof” stop and from there continue on the same bus in their desired direction.

Zornheim: Stop canceled

From June 29 through August 7, Line 640 will be rerouted via Konrad-Adenauer-Straße. The “Niedernbergstraße” stop will not be served during this period.

Oppenheim: Service Disruptions Due to Full Closure of the B9

From July 11 through July 31, the full closure of the B9 in Oppenheim will have significant impacts on lines 640, 644, and 646. During this period, lines 640 and 646 will only run to and from “Nierstein, Bahnhof,” respectively. Line 644 will run directly from Oppenheim via Weinolsheim and Friesenheim to Köngernheim.

Bus Stop Closure in Bodenheim

From June 29 through July 18, there will be service restrictions on Line 69 in Bodenheim. Due to construction work, the “Im Langreh” and “Dolles” stops will not be served during this period.

Service Restrictions in Gau-Bischofsheim

There will be particularly extensive service restrictions in Gau-Bischofsheim from July 20 through August 9. With the exception of the “Abzweig Steigstraße” stop, no other stops will be served there.

On trips via Lörzweiler, Line 660 also serves Harxheim; the remaining trips serve only Mommenheim, “Harxheim, Im Wickgarten,” and “Gau-Bischofsheim, Abzweig Steigstraße.” Line 69 runs hourly from Mainz-Hechtsheim via “Gau-Bischofsheim, Abzweig Steigstraße,” Harxheim, Lörzweiler, and Nackenheim to Bodenheim; the other trips on Line 69, coming from Mainz, end at “Messe Hechtsheim.”

Roundabout Construction Between Ober-Hilbersheim and Engelstadt

Starting around the end of August, the construction of a roundabout between Ober-Hilbersheim and Engelstadt is expected to affect bus service for approximately four months. Lines 625 and 626 will be affected. During the construction period, service will revert to the previous routes: There will be two bus routes

  • Ingelheim – Schwabenheim – Engelstadt
  • Ingelheim – Gau-Algesheim – Ober-Hilbersheim
