On Mantelsonntag, when stores are open for business on October 25, 2026, additional bus routes will be in service.
From approximately 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., the following additional routes, lines, and trips will be offered:
Lines 56 and 58
Trips on Line 56, which normally begin in Finthen during this time, will instead begin in Wackernheim (and vice versa).
The Theodor-Heuss-Straße stop in Finthen will be served by Line 58 during this period, which will operate along its entire route (Bischofsheim–Finthen) at the times listed above. Line 58 does not normally run on Sundays.
Between Bischofsheim and Finthen, the number of trips will thus double from two to four per hour.
Line 57
Runs from Bretzenheim past the main station to Kastel / Krautgärten (and back). Buses traveling from Bretzenheim to Kastel will depart 10 minutes later than usual.
This allows for direct trips from Bretzenheim to downtown (and vice versa) without having to transfer. From the Kostheim / Uthmannstraße area, there are—together with Line 54—four trips per hour to downtown Mainz instead of two.
Line 68
Buses heading toward Hochheim will stop at the Dresdener Ring stop (instead of Wiesbadener Straße), which simplifies the return trip from Mainz.
Line 76
Departures from the Straßenbahnamt to the main station between 12:44 p.m. and 6:44 p.m. will be delayed by two minutes each.
