The computer for the train number reporting system at the Rheinhessen/Weinstraße signal box, which is responsible for the Alzeyer-Y (RE 13, RB 31, RB 35), has failed and must be completely replaced.
Consequently, DB InfraGO has instructed that, until further notice, service on the Alzey-Mainz section be reduced to one train per direction per hour. In addition to the Mainz-Alzey line, the Bingen-Worms line and the line through the Lauter Valley are also affected.
Currently, RE 13 trains between Mainz and Alzey have been canceled. Some RB 31 and RB 35 trains are running with significant delays.
Starting tomorrow, November 3, 2026, service is expected to return to normal.
